A reminder: Joy is your right!
Ruminations on the current seasonal and celestial environment, with invitations to companion with Nature to understand our feelings and cultivate awareness and regeneration. Astro update 2 June 2025
This season of rot and remembering, the time between autumn equinox and winter solstice, the descent part of the seasonal spiral, has led me to ask myself many questions. I felt like they were good questions, but upon reflection, I realised I was answering them from the wrong place. Since the autumn equinox, I had mapped out some goals that I thought would carry me into 2025. I knew they weren't set in stone, as I'd been working with the seasons and cycles for a long time.
However, when autumn equinox and Pisces season arrived, so did a big, stressful situation at work. This situation was meant to initiate me into the next version of myself. Throughout the last seasonal spiral, I had said that my vision was to move from doing to being, but I lost sight of that. I started asking myself questions at the end of last year, like what do I love? What kind of life do I want? My focus was always on doing something creative or in my business, but I had forgotten that it's not about the doing.
During this process with the goals I'd mapped out at the beginning of the year, I was connecting with nature and myself, particularly through yoga. I was doing practices that helped my energetic body and cleared my mind, allowing me to be a channel to the divine and hear my intuition properly. When we're stressed, like I was with the work situation, it's difficult to hear the whispers of intuition.
I love the bush, being with my family and friends, and traveling. I had stopped finding joy in everything I was doing because I thought it was the doing that brought me joy. My parents were examples of the mindset that success is doing, having a job, or maybe a business. But in reality, being a human is all you need to be, and finding joy in life is all that truly matters.
We are only a month away from the winter solstice, where the light will start to increase again. We are in the darkest part of the year, but this is where we remember our roots. I have remembered mine, moving from doing to being and driven by joy. Now I'm asking the question and giving the answer from the right place: Does it bring me joy?
I've put down a lot of the goals, even the goals that I know will happen and they're much, much simpler. I'm also not overly attached to them, but every time I go back to them, they all bring me joy.
So, what brings you joy?
Weekly Celestial Astrology for 2 June 2025 (13 Sign Sidereal Astrology)
On Monday, Venus is conjunct Chiron in Pisces. Venus represents our values, our regenerative ability, and our ability to connect with ourselves in our body and with other humans. Chiron is the alchemist, but it has three stages: the wound, the healing acknowledgement, and the acceptance of the wound as part of your wisdom.
Pisces represents consciousness, our connection to something greater, and our mystical intelligence. By mystical intelligence, I mean all our intelligences, including our very specialised, subtle intelligences of intuition. There are a couple of levels of intuition, such as biological intuition (your body telling you something), innate intuition (when you know a great deal about something and are an expert), and non-local intuition (connecting with consciousness to receive information we couldn't possibly know).
When Venus and Chiron come together in Pisces, which happens every year, there's an opportunity for you to use your regenerative ability to review your healing journey.
An invitation to love those bits of yourself that you find unlovable.
An invitation to be compassionate to yourself.
An invitation to acknowledge past hurts and choose a pathway where they don’t weigh you down anymore.
On 6th June, Jupiter, our great benefic, the planet that holds back all those asteroids from hitting planet Earth like a giant hug with its gravity and all of its extra moons that it keeps pulling in will now be observed in Gemini. This is where you could actually see Jupiter in the night sky. Jupiter in the night sky is really easy to see because it's the biggest planet in our solar system, so it's also one of the brightest.
Jupiter is our beliefs, but it's also our faith and the trust we put in those beliefs. Jupiter has just spent the last 18 months to two years in Taurus, we've hopefully reconnected with those beliefs that are connected to our values and our resources and what we're architecting this lifetime.
But now as our beliefs and our faith and our trust moves into Gemini, Gemini is all about our story.
So where do we connect into our beliefs with our story this lifetime so far?
It's not just any story because within our story there might be polarities. While Jupiter is moving through Gemini, it's a great time to be inquisitive. It's a great time to question.
Gemini loves to question. Gemini loves facts. Gemini loves to go, is that belief still really part of my faith within myself?
Is it still really part of me?
How has my story transformed over the last 12 years? That's how long Jupiter takes to move around the solar system. That's the last time Jupiter was in Gemini.
Is that belief still relevant or is it a programming that I've just taken on board and I'm living it but don’t believe it?
Finally, Venus moves into the constellation known as Aries Sunday 8 June. However, that constellation is really a void space on the ecliptic, if we're looking at the actual night sky. Because Aries, the stars and nebula that make up that asterism, don't actually get intersected by the ecliptic. So planets that revolve around the Sun don't really get that close to the star patterns of Aries. On the other side of the ecliptic is a constellation known as Cetus, The Whale.
We have this dynamic in this void space where it's a little bit like choose your own adventure. On one side, we have the heat and the fire of Aries, of the warrior, some energy, some passion, some direction. And then on the other side, we have the calming, cooling, connective social influence of whale energy. I kind of liken that to our vagus nerve, where we have two sides, one that stimulates us into a sympathetic nervous system response, and the other one is parasympathetic.
Venus, who has spent an inordinate amount of time in Pisces this year, the whole front end of this year, communing with something greater, becoming devoted to the essence of something greater, while still also being very much connected with themselves and in their body. That may have been a very healing journey for you, it has been for me.
When Venus now moves into this space (Aries/Cetus), you get to choose a new identity. Here is the rub with our life. Sometimes we get so deeply connected to an identity, there's fear we can't possibly change that identity. However, with Venus's transit through Pisces, something may have changed so drastically within you, that you now possibly can't identify with that aspect of yourself anymore.
With Venus in Aries/Cetus, the question that you get to reflect on is, who am I now?
What is the identity I choose to move forward with?
